Professional Odour Removal - Milk Smell Video
A milky coffee had been spilled on the carpet of this Mini Cooper, which resulted in the entire car having a smell of rotten milk.
Although somebody had attempted to clean this up by shampooing the carpets from the top, the coffee had soaked right through the carpet, the underlay and ended up in the floor pan on the driver's side.
Milk goes mouldy, and that mould propagates its self by ejecting mould spores, which is essentially what you can smell. These spores will spread throughout the car and will settle on all surfaces. So we clean the entire car, decontaminating it with antimicrobial to ensure the smell is completely removed.
In the video you can see Gary fogging the car with an antimicrobial, antibacterial product, and then again spraying the car with an alcohol based disinfectant.
Under the carpets, we use enzymes which will work to neutralize the smell by racing to eat the milk, and then when they out compete the mould and the mould dies, the enzymes eat that too. This is used in combination with soda, which absorbs bad odours. We wash the carpet with the soda, as well as leaving a layer of powder under the carpet once it's fully dry.
Being this thorough means we have an extremely high success rate with odour removal, which can be extremely difficult to do.
