Hoods Question from Jason Lee

Submitted on 13/07/2009

The car is seventeen(17) years old and i dont kow if its the original roof, it has not rips or holes. Recently i have noticed that a small area has begun to wear about the size of a 5p through opening and closing. Can this be repaired? Many thanks. Jason in Grays, Essex. Model: Classic Saab 900 Convertible

Hi Jason,

We forwarded this question to Malcom of Barton & Son coach trimmers to get an expert opinion... unfortunately Malcom is on holiday and couldn't see the photo clearly on his blackberry.

Anyway, this is certainly not anything we can do, and I know it's a problem that even coach trimmers struggle to do anything about short of replacing the whole hood!

So what I suggest you do is leave it a couple of weeks and then contact Barton and Son direct. If anybody can offer a cost effective solution.. they can.

Kind Regards
The New Again Team.
