Buying and Selling Question from Peter Chadwick

Submitted on 03/09/2009

I have a 2003 Milano Red Honda Civic Type-R which I would like you to advise me on. I'm looking to sell the car hopefully this year, but after visiting my local garage after a service and having it valued, I was more than a little disappointed at the figure I got !! Anyway, I'd really like to know what the best procedure for finding out what kind of work is needed - I'd like to get it valeted and the small dent in the drivers wing removed if possible, but I'm not sure if I also may want/need something else - paintwork re-conditioning, whats the best procedure, book a time and just bring it down ? Model: 2003 Honda Civic Type-R

Hi Peter

Selling your car can be almost as nerve wracking as buying a car, hardly surprising as large amounts of money are at stake

.
I'm not that surprised you recieved a figure you disliked, the dealers will naturally want to give you less than the cars true value and then sell it on to gain a profit.
Selling privately personally i think is better on a used vehicle. I highly recommend our free sellers guide for all the rite advice on selling a car.  It sounds like you have got the correct idea,  getting the car prepped for sale by  getting advice on what to do. We will advise you which route to take by concentrating on the key things.

I would suggest calling myself to make booking arrangements, the dent you have on the o/s front wing should be easy as there is good access on this area of a car, we also offer a discount on p.d.r repairs if we carry out a valet on the day.
I have a pre face lift C.T.R myself in milano red it would be great to work on something similar.
