Leather Restoration Question from Paul Frost
Submitted on 23/09/2009
As mentioned in one of your articles on the web site, my drivers side seat has developed a small wear hole on the seat base bolster (car is lhd). Also the panel stitching is wearing through and these are in Alpina Blue and Green (not sure if you can make this out in the photo's). The leather is Alpina Black Buffalo spec. The passenger side front up right bolster has picked up scratches too (I guess from jeans etc) I am in North Essex near Colchester. Could you please let me know your thoughts on the repairs necessary and roughly how much money I am looking at. FYI, I have asked Alpina in Germany and their leather man thought a repair would be best for matching purposes, rather than they supply new panels that won't match 12 year old leather (the car is from Feb 1997). many thanks Paul Model: Alpina B8 Touring
