Spilt shed preserver in car on way to the tip. Stinks of kerosene- like smell Any tips on getting rid of smell Based in Hammersmith West London Model: VW Touran TDI Sport

Hi Simon

Difficult one to advise but here it goes.

The smell is not the nicest to have in a car. We had a volvo xc90 in here quite recently with a very similar problem.

As the spill had gone on the leather we advised this would need replacing, you can 't apply strong solvents to leather & most plastics. We delt with the smell by using products such as last resort + kentucky blugrass which is ment for fuel/oil based spillages.

I can advise better with some more info/pictures. Where has the spill happened, how much has been spilt.

You can sometimes remove a section of the inside depending on where the spill is. You can then deal with the problem as a seperate matter.

I can recommend a company called Chemspec how may be able to advise a process/products to use if you want to try and combat the problem yourself.

Contact me if you need to. I may be able to help you better.
