Paint Sealants Question from Ian Cadwallader

Submitted on 08/08/2008

I purchased the car brand new 6 months ago, at the time I never gave paint protection a second thought, thinking that regular washing and waxing would keep it looking good. However, I have recently encountered a problem with bird droppings "melting " the paint for want of a better description. The dropping was not spotted initially as it was a dark deposit on a dark (eclipse grey) paint work. I have been recommended 2 products, Ixtar G-3 and Supagard, both recomended/endorsed by Renault, could i ask which one would you recomend and what would be the approximate cost to treat my car, unfortunately as I live near Birmingham I probably wouldn't be able to get to you due to distance etc. Also, I have viewed your various articles about how good supagard is, but the one thing I can not find is any mention of how well this or any other product stands up to bird droppings, as this is the problem which has got me looking at these products. Your assistance would be appreciated. Ian Model: Renault Megane hatch
