Accident Clean-up Question from Phillip Henry

Submitted on 15/11/2008

I'm from North West London and am about to purchase the car in the attached photo. As you can see its been vandalised by fire and graffiti to the paint work. My guess is that it will cost me a fortune, based on the photos do you think its worth salvaging and if so, roughly how much is it going to set me back? Model: Audi TT Quattro 03

We can't say if it's worth salvaging as it's all down to the numbers.

For us to strip this, decontaminate it, and put it back together would probably be around £2000+vat (if the dashboard doesn't need to come out). It's the parts that will add up. If you had a donor car to  strip the parts from, it may work out cheaper than buying the parts new, but even this would be expensive.

The spray paint on the exterior will probably come off, but you may need to replace the back lights as the solvent in the paint may have etched the plastic.
