Detailing Question from Trevor Bailey

Submitted on 24/05/2009

I recently had a new front wing fitted as a result of being reversed into. The colour of the new wing now shows up the rest of the paintwork - the roof looks more faded than I imagined! What would you recommend - would a valet with a clear-coat buffing help to even up the paintwork? Model: Vauxhall Astra '05 reg

Trevor

Quite possibly, if the colour is correct and theres no reason to think otherwise.

Although a few years ago Vauxhall didn't put any lacquer on some of there base (plane) colour cars. Now the reds seem to be the worst ones suffering so it may need a lot of looking after onces its done. We have done one or two of these twice. You cant do this indefinitely as because they didn't put much paint on there in the first place. So if you do have it done it may need a wax/polish a lot more often than usual. Unfortunately these kind of problem cars are the one ones that we cant guarantee with paintsealents as the damage is already done.

Kind regards
