Restoring your current car beats buying new in most cases -- here's what paint correction and detailing can realistically achieve.

Modern cars are built to last, and while they may show signs of wear and tear, the solution isn’t always to trade them in for a newer model. Instead, restoring your car to its former glory could be the best decision you’ll ever make.

At New Again, we believe restoring your car is "The Cheapest Way to Get a New Car."

With our expertise, you can breathe new life into your vehicle, making it look and feel like new again, without the hefty price tag that comes with buying a replacement.

Why Restore Instead of Replace?

  • Financial Benefits: Buying a new car is expensive, and the value starts dropping the moment you drive it off the forecourt. In fact, new cars typically lose 20-30% of their value within the first year alone.
  • Sentimental Value: Many people become attached to their cars over the years. It might be the car you dreamed of owning when you were a teenager, or the car your father passed down to you. Or maybe a car in which you have many happy memories.
  • Environmentally Friendly: Manufacturing a new car produces a significant carbon footprint, with up to 10 tonnes of CO₂ emissions generated per vehicle.
  • Lower Running Costs: Older cars generally have lower insurance premiums.
  • You Should Get the Benefit: Many people will spruce up their old car to get more money when they sell it. Why make your car like new again, for someone else, when you could have the benefit of that new car feeling the whole time you own it.

What Does Modern Car Restoration Include?

It can include as little or as much as your car needs, but we never forget that we are here to give you value for money. The Pareto Principle applies, so we will recommend the things that will really make a difference.  Something, as simple and as cheap as replacing old numberplates, can make a huge difference.

Exterior Restoration

  • Dent, Scuff & Scratch Removal - The first stage is to remove dents with paintless dent removal. Scratches and scuffs can be removed with local area Smart repairs.
  • Midi-Repairs - For more serious damage, the car may need to go to a bodyshop to repair respray affected panels. We are happy to arrange this.
  • Paint Correction & Polishing  - Fine scratches from washing make your paintwork look old and dull. Machine polishing can restore your paintwork as good as new.
  • Ceramic Coatings - Once the paintwork is polished, and you intend to keep the car for many more years, it makes sense to give it a protective coating. Ceramic coatings have many benefits.
  • Wheel Refurbishment - Repainting scuffed or corroded wheels instantly lifts a car's appearance.

Interior Restoration

  • Deep Cleaning & Odour Removal - We tackle dirt, stains, and lingering smells at their source, using specialist equipment and techniques to restore your vehicle's cabin to a clean, hygienic, and fresh-smelling condition. Whether it's spills, pet odours, or general wear and tear, we can help make your car feel like new again.
  • Leather Seat Restoration - Leather seats and steering wheels become cracked and worn with age. We can repair just those areas of wear, or completely refresh all the leather in your car to make it look new.
  • Trim and Upholstery Repairs - We can repair scuffs and scratches on door panels, dashboards and the backs of seats and even repair holes in carpets.

Convertible Roof Restoration

  • Soft Top Cleaning & Proofing - We specialize in restoring convertible roofs. Dirt and dust makes them look faded but with thorough cleaning and a good quality coating, a dramatic transformation can be achieved.

Our Process: How We Restore Your Car

  1. Free Assessment & Consultation - We will ask you what you are tying to achieve. You may just want the car to see you out a few more years, you may intend for it to be the last car you ever buy. You may want to pass the car to your son or daughter, or export it to your holiday home in the sun. We have customers who spend way more than the car is worth because of sentimental reasons, while most want to work to a strict budget.  Whatever your requirements, we can work with you.
  2. Customised Plan - We will give you an itemized list of recommendations. Sometimes there will be options or things you can do now or later, or not do at all. There is no hard sell, and you are free to choose based on your timetable and budget.
  3. Professional Execution - We take pride in delivering top-quality results by combining our in-house expertise with carefully selected specialists. While some aspects of restoration are carried out by our skilled team, we subcontract certain services to trusted professionals who share our high standards. Each partner is chosen for their expertise and attention to detail, ensuring that every part of your car’s restoration is handled with the utmost care and precision.
  4. Progress Reports - A technician will be assigned to manage your car's restoration. They will send you video progress reports showing you that the work has been done, and you can call them any time.
  5. Long-Term Protection & Advice - Once your car is restored, it makes sense to keep it looking new. We are here to help you take care of your car for years to come.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is car restoration worth the investment?  - Absolutely! We can even have your car valued and do it by the book. But if your car has sentimental value, it can be hard to put a price on it. Ultimately, it's up to you. Over the last 35 years we have restored hundreds of modern cars and have many happy customers.
  • Is it only for prestige and expensive sports cars? - No it isn't, and it can be far more cost-effective to do on an average family car. For example, damaged trim such as a tread plate, which might cost £1700 to replace on an Aston-Martin, may be £25 from a parts dealer or £10 on eBay for a Ford Focus. Parts can be so cheap, it is more practical to replace rather than repair.
  • How long does the process take?  - This depends on the services you choose. We have a busy workshop and aim to get things turned around as quickly as possible. Occasionally, there are delays, if, for example, we are waiting on parts, but we will keep you informed.
  • Can I restore my car in stages?  - Yes, we can work with your timetable, especially if there is a lot of work to be done.
  • Will it increase my car's resale value? - Definitely. But after we have worked our magic, you probably won't want to sell it!
