Dent Removal Question from Tim Jones

Submitted on 31/10/2011

Hi, I recently discovered a ding on my drivers door as shown in the attached photos. Not sure what's caused it as would have thought if a door from another vehicle was involved it would have hit my door mirror first as it is in an unusual place. Perhaps it was a flying stone? I've had to touch it up to protect it against the elements as unfortunately the bare metal underneath has been exposed. I don't think this dent can be knocked out as access behind it is restricted and as the paint is broken presume a respray on the top of the door is the only option but would prefer a second opinion please and estimate of cost if you are able to help but feel that I may have to live with it. I live in the West Midlands. Thanks Model: BMW E46 325Ci 12/2003 (Titanium Silver)

Have a read of this page. My suggestion is to see if you can get a good Dent Removal Company to see if they can remove it, then live with the chip.

If you watch these two videos, it will explain why you can't just spray the top of the door.
