Matrix Black Ceramic Coating provides a hard, clear barrier to protect your paintwork against the effects of weather, washing abrasion, chemicals and environmental contaminants. The treatment forms a clear, glossy glass-like shell, bonded to your paintwork, which is guaranteed not to crack or wear off unlike traditional wax coatings.

With a 9H Pencil Test rating, the coating is tough enough to resist micro-scratches from road grime and washing, maintaining a high shine which dirt can't stick to. We highly recommend that you protect your new car with a ceramic coating while the paintwork is new and highly polished. We have two sets of prices, one for new cars under 400 miles and one for cars 2–3 years old as they will require our two - stage polish, or for cars older cars, we have a four - stage machine polishing system.

Is Matrix Black only for black cars?

Matrix Black can be used on any colour car. It's incredible on black and dark-coloured cars, it's exceptional on cars with pearlescent metallic fleck, but it is designed to go on any colour of car.

Is Matrix Black scratch resistant?

Ceramic coatings are tough and will help resist wash marks and light scratches, the kind you might get when you brush past the rhododendrons in your driveway when you park the car. It certainly toughens up the paint, but it doesn't make it bulletproof.

What is the durability of Matrix Black?

Autosmart warranty Matrix Black Ceramic Coating for 8 years, and we back that warranty. However, our experience with paint protection coatings would suggest it lasts far longer. We have seen polymer coatings which are guaranteed for 5 years, last for fifteen years, and we believe ceramic is far superior to polymer.

Why is Matrix Black so expensive?

Our prices are inclusive. The price quoted will include full preparation of the car's paintwork, that's why the prices for new cars are less. The paintwork needs to be as good as it gets before the sealant goes on because it's permanent. It's also incredibly unforgiving - it isn't hugely difficult to apply, but there is practically zero margin for error.

Can I wax over the top of a ceramic coating?

You can apply a wax over a ceramic coating, but you really don't need to. You can if you'd like to, it won't do it any harm, but we can't guarantee it will stick well to the car! If you do, we'd suggest a wash'n'wax type product, however Autosmart do a top-up for Matrix Black called Recharge which we apply.
