Dent Removal Question from Phil Neill
Submitted on 02/12/2011
Hello, As shown in the photographs I have a dent for which I have had 3 repair quotes of around £800 because it needs a new skin which will take 5 days to repair. From reading info on here I'm wondering if I am being overcharged and should really do something using PDR etc. Be grateful for your opinion Thanks, Phil (Manchester) Model: ford fiesta Titanium 1400 metallic silver just under 2 years old
Had Chris our dent man have a good look at it. He said that it could be improved by about eighty percent. But because there is a dent within a dent, where the impact point is, then it won't be possible to get in right. Plus the bit in the leading edge of the door will be impossible to get to the back of, see here.. Plus lastly the edge has the paint missing and a touch up would show because its silver. You may want to watch these two videos which will explain why its not a Smart Repair you need.
£800 is a fare price for that job. I think it would cost at least a thousand down here.
