Is a Ceramic Coating Worth it?

Ceramic coatings are expensive, there's no getting away from that. So the question has to be asked, are they worth the money?

For many people, yes they are.  If you are buying the car and going to keep your car for three or more years, it can be a great investment.

The money argument

When you eventually sell the car, how much you get for it will depend on the cosmetic appearance. A car that looks tatty, is dull and scratched is far less desirable than one which looks practically new. The difference in resale value will cover the cost of a ceramic coating, it will literally pay you back.

Alternatively, you may well decide that your car still looks so good that you will keep it a few more years, saving yourself the cost of devaluation on a new car. You may even decide that your current car will be your last car, and you will keep it for good.  We know many cars can be mechanically reliable for decades with minimal maintenance, paint protection with a quality ceramic coating will also make if far easier to maintain the outside.

It makes life far easier

Coatings give you the added benefits of easier maintenance, the whole time you have the car. You will have to wash it less frequently, and washing will be far easier. We cannot overstate this. Although enthusiasts for shiny cars have made ceramic coatings popular, for most people, getting the car cleaned is just another chore.

What could be better than having a clean, shiny car without having to put in the work? This is by far the biggest selling point of ceramic coatings. Many of the cars we coat are repeat customers, one of whom has now had his whole family's cars done, totalling seven cars. The reason these converts keep coming back and sending their friends, is that ceramic coatings just make car care so much easier.

It's crazy not to!

Are there reasons to not have a ceramic coating? Sure there are, if you know your car will get battered, and you will run it into the ground, ceramic coatings are probably not for you. But most people go through the following process. They buy a car which looks great, they drive it around for a year with it looking great, keeping on top of maintenance. Then the car starts to show age, so they don't care about it quite so much.  After three to five years, they start to feel it looks a bit shabby, and they should treat themselves to a new car. So, they decide to sell their old one; they get it cleaned up to make it attractive to buyers. They refurbish the wheels, polish the paint up, shampoo the interior and essentially pay to make it look like new for somebody else. Isn't that crazy?

Doesn't it make more sense to have that new car feeling the whole time you own it? Speciality coatings do more than anything else to keep your car looking new.
