VW Golf 2014 | Part 1 | Water Leak Detection Service Video
In this video, James begins by showing where we have found water. Quite often a customer comes to us with a damp problem or steamed up windows, but it isn't evidence where the water is other than a general dampness.
As we have shown elsewhere, there can be considerable amounts of water under the carpets, so although you may believe you can dry the car out by putting the heater on and leaving the window open a crack, that is unlikely to dry the car unless you have very thin carpets. By the time you notice you have a problem, there could be several gallons of water sloshing around in the floor pans.
Water remaining in the car will first lead to damp smells, mildew, mould and fungus. You may also notice your windows getting steamed up in the mornings because the dampness in the air will condensate on the glass. However, it will also condensate on electrical systems, causing corrosion which can lead to failure.
We have been repairing leaks and drying cars for over 30 years
Up to a third of the cost of your car was computers, processors and sensors. Delicate electrical systems hidden under your carpets, which might now be sitting in water.
