Volkswagen Touareg Water Leak Diagnostic Video
In this video, we see the customer walk us around his leaky Volkswagen Touareg and explain the problem.
When a car comes to us for a water leak, we do an interview with the customer and ask them a series of questions so we learn everything they have discovered and can address all their concerns.
We then check the car with a moisture meter looking for signs of water ingress before carrying out a 28 point check, inspecting the most common entry points. We also check our databased for the specific model in cases there are any model specific issues. We also check for things like corrosion and black mould.
In this case, we found the sunroof pipes had shrunk with age and become disconnected. The rear air vents were also leaking.
As Alfie explains, we will replace the rear vents and make up a set of drains with quality hoses and strip the interior to dry the car.
Drying and disinfecting the car is the most important part of the procedure.
We then test the car under a rain arch once it's all been put together.

The main culprit for causing the wet carpet on this Bentley was a disconnected pipe for the sunroof drainage. It is fairly common on cars with sunroofs for the pipes to shrink with age, and as they shorten they pull off the connectors.
