Ford Mondeo Rain Water Leak | Many Leaks! Video
Unfortunately, we don't always get it right first time. When we find leaks, we fix them, then we test the car under a rain arch. But this doesn't reveal all leaks, which is why we say that the real world is the real test.
After fixing the door membranes and unblocking the sunroof, we returned this car to the customer. However, it came back within a month with wet carpets again.
When we checked it again, we did find two more leaks, one in the door pillar and another due to clips behind the door card. However, these required us pouring a deluge on them to get any kind of leak and were unlikely to be the cause of the wet carpets.
We found that the sunroof drainage was blocked again. Although it had flowed freely when testing on our rain arch, the introduction of some debris in the form of leaves and dirt had caused them to become blocked. When we examined the drainage pipes we found that they had shrunk and become deformed, causing a kink in the pipes which was easily blocked.
