Do convertible cars leak?
Yes they do. But all cars leak when they get to about 8-10 years old. Rubber and neoprene seals and gaskets perish, they can become misshaped, spilt, cracked and shrink. Glues can become dry and brittle, plastic membranes can shrink or split, and plastic gates become weak. This is normal on all cars.
Convertible cars are especially prone as they have far more neoprene seals. They also have channels and drainage holes to disperse water which can get blocked up long before rubbers start to perish, and dirt can get in the way of a good seal and let water past.
So while they are more prone to leaking than a normal car, all these things can be fixed or avoided with proper maintenance. Cabriolet cars do require a little more attention than a hard top.
