How do I find reputable ceramic coaters?

Any reputable brand of ceramic coating will have accredited detailers. They will have ensured that they are fully equipped, fully trained, and perfectly capable of carrying out the work.

However, if you want to go one step further, and get somebody who really knows what they are doing, still enthusiastic about their work, there are a few extra steps we can take.

There are many small firms that only do ceramic coatings. And as ceramic coatings have only been around a few years, many of these outlets are fairly new and the people operating them are fairly young.

There is nothing wrong with being young and enthusiastic, but to stay in this business a long time, you have to be very good with a wide range of skills. It is worth asking how long they have been in business, and if it is only a short time, ask what they did before. If they have been detailing cars for 25 years, you can probably bet they know what they are doing. Also ask if the business is full time, or something they do a couple of days a week.

Also, ask to see their portfolio. If they have done a lot of cars, it is reasonable to assume they have posted photos or video on their website, Facebook, Instagram or YouTube. If they are good at this, they will have done several cars a week over a period of years, and you may well get to see other areas of car detailing they are skilled in. Of course, if you are really busy coating cars, it can be very difficult to keep up with posting videos and pictures, but you should be able to see some evidence they have plenty of experience.

But one of the best indicators is reviews. You cannot trust all review websites, but it is much harder to manipulate Google's reviews. It is very hard to get large numbers of good reviews, so any company that has them deserves them.

We ask all our customers to leave reviews, almost all agree to do it, but they very seldom do. It is very hard to get reviews, even the ones that seem very enthusiastic and happy with your work. Once they drive away, their mind is on the next thing, and it's forgotten about. The exception to this is people who are not happy. They are far more likely to leave a bad review. This is what makes Google Reviews so reliable, because although it might be possible to fake good reviews, Google does not make it easy to remove bad reviews (unlike some other websites who will gladly take your money).

When looking at reviews, you should look for a pattern. Anyone who has ever worked in customer service knows that you will get an unhappy customer once in a while, so one or two bad reviews should not put you off. What you should look for is a pattern of consistent good reviews over time.
