Autoglym Super Resin Polish

Quick answer: Autoglym Super Resin Polish (SRP) is a hand-friendly “all-in-one” cleaner polish that lightly abrades, fills/hides fine swirls with resins, and leaves a short-term protective layer. It’s ideal for quick enhancement, not a substitute for machine correction or ceramic.

Super Resin Polish is a superb combination product and one we have recommended for many years. It is easy to buff off, is fairly clean (it doesn't create a lot of dust), it's readily available and it achieves good results. It is a polish suitable for removing oxidation and the more you work it, the more it polishes. It's a diminishing polish, meaning that as you work it, the abrasives break down becoming finer, even when applied by hand.

As it contains fillers, it can hide wash marks, and the durability is pretty good at around six months. All-in-all, it's a very good alternative to both traditional waxes and polishes such as T-Cut

However, it isn't a suitable topper for ceramic or graphene coatings.

What it means

SRP combines mild abrasives with resinous fillers and a sealant component. By hand or DA on a soft pad, it refines light oxidation and haze, visually masks micro-marring, and leaves a glossy, slick finish with limited durability. It’s commonly used as a fast spruce-up or pre-sale tidy, and can be topped with a wax or modern spray sealant for longer-lasting behaviour.

Why it matters

  • Speed & forgiveness: effective by hand, minimal risk on thin/older clear coats.
  • Great on daily drivers: hides wash swirls and brightens the finish without full correction.
  • Flexible: plays nicely under waxes/sealants; easy to reapply as needed.
  • Expectation control: “fills and refines” rather than permanently removing deeper defects.

Where you’ll see it

DIY kits, trade valeting, pre-sale detailing, and “quick enhancement” packages where time is tight and heavy correction isn’t required.

How to use (at a glance)

  • Prep: wash, decontaminate (iron/tar), optional light clay. Dry thoroughly.
  • Apply: thin coat by hand applicator (or soft finishing pad on low DA speed). Work a small section until the film turns uniform.
  • Haze & remove: allow a short haze, then buff with a clean microfibre.
  • Top: for longer life, add a wax or spray sealant after SRP.

Common mistakes

  • Expecting permanent correction — SRP fills many fine marks; deeper defects need machine polishing.
  • Over-applying (thick coats) leading to stubborn buff-off and smearing.
  • Using it over ceramic coatings — it contains abrasives and synthetic wax and is not a suitable topper.
  • Applying on hot panels or direct sun, which can cause rapid haze and difficult removal.
  • Using on matte/satin finishes or textured trims, which may gloss or stain unevenly.
