Graphene coating is an advanced protective layer that utilizes the latest in nanotechnology to provide superior protection and shine for your car. Unlike traditional wax or ceramic coatings, graphene forms a stronger bond with your car's surface, ensuring long-lasting results.

Butterfly is a premium product offering superb hardness, durability and shine. Your car will stay cleaner for longer because the silica ceramic surface rejects dirt, leading many to call these coatings, "self-cleaning". Glass-hard, it resists scratches and enhances light reflection and colour saturation.

New Car Paint Protection

Car paint sealants are best applied when the car is brand new, before it can collect any wash marks and micro scratches. This of course means we have to do less polishing and preparation and this is reflected in the prices. We have two price menus, one for new cars under 400 miles, and one for cars which are 2-3 years old and will at least require out two stage polishing system. We can manage older cars too, with our four state machine polish.

How long does Butterfly Graphene last?

Permanent coatings often last far longer than manufacturers guarantee. We’ve seen polymer coatings last 15 years, ceramics prove even more durable, and graphene is extremely resilient. Of course, this isn’t pure graphene but a resin with proven bonding chemistry. Manufacturers give a very conservative 8-year guarantee; with reasonable care, you can expect that and more.

I’ve heard graphene is bunk?

There has been hype and some snake oil products, which justifies scepticism. Many companies sprinkle raw graphene into a wax and claim it’s a coating. We were sceptical too, but we’ve tested this product and seen excellent results. Graphene is a genuine wonder material with extraordinary properties — while we don’t claim miracles for your car, the coating really does work. If you’re interested in the science, watch this explainer.

Is graphene better than ceramic?

Each coating has strengths, weaknesses, and costs. From our experience, graphene is stronger, more flexible, more durable, and offers greater chemical resistance. It also seems to deepen colour and enhance metallic flake. Enough to make a difference? We think so.

Will it make my car scratch-proof?

No coating makes paint scratch-proof. Graphene resins toughen paintwork, making it more scratch-resistant. Tests in other industries show graphene dramatically strengthens materials, but remember it sits on top of paint, which is still relatively soft. Think “resistant”, not “proof”.

Can I wax over a graphene coating?

You can, but you likely won’t need to. If you want extra shine, we recommend our graphene spray glaze, designed specifically to work on top of a graphene coating.
