Gtechniq Ceramic Coating

Gtechniq's Serum Light forms an ultra-durable, high-gloss, slick to the touch, chemically bonding inorganic layer of tough optically clear ceramic.

Gtechniq was the pioneer in advanced coatings and since it's inception in 2001 has been continually improving and updating their products, ensuring their place as market leader.

Gtechniq Ceramic Coating

A ceramic coating chemically bonds to your paintwork, creating a microscopic layer of nanostructured silanes and siloxanes which are as smooth as glass. This ceramic coating repels water and dirt, protects the paint from chemical and UV damage as well as creating a hard barrier which offers a level of scratch resistance.  If you want to find out all about them, please see our Definitive Guide to  Ceramic Coatings

Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light
The Pinnacle of Paint Protection

Crystal Serum Light slots into Gtechniq's professional range as their 5-year ceramic coating.

GTechniq bullet

EASY CLEAN - SUPERIOR SHINE - Crystal Serum Light adds gloss to your paintwork, making it slick, so the dirt can't stick.  Water just beads up and rolls off, taking the grime with it.

GTechniq bullet

SWIRL RESISTANT - This ceramic coating has a hardness of 9H, so it resists those washing marks which quickly age your car and dull the shine.

GTechniq bullet

5-YEAR DURABILITY - Once applied, gloss levels will remain in the upper 90th percentile for significantly longer when compared to traditional paint protection products.

GTechniq bullet

SUPERIOR PROTECTION - Unlike traditional waxes and sealants which burn off within a few months, Gtechniq Ceramic Coatings  can resist temperatures of 250°c, and because ceramic is an inorganic compound, bonded to your paintwork, it can resist corrosive substances of pH2 – pH12, making contaminants such as tree sap, tar, and hard water spots, far easier to remove.

Are you a Gtechniq Accredited Detailer?

No we aren't. We missed out on the franchise for this area, but we are allowed to apply Crystal Serum Light, and although you won't get the Gtechniq guarantee, we offer our own 5-year guarantee.

How long do ceramic coatings take to dry?

It will be dry by the time you collect your car from us. Some manufacturers say, don't wash your car for a week until it's had time to fully cure. It does seem to be the case, we have noticed that a few hours after application, the finish looks even better. So you can assume there is a curing process which takes about a week before your car is fully, completely, totally dry.

If it lasts for 5-years, what happens after 5-years?

The coating will still be on your car, it's permanent. However, it isn't bullet-proof. Five years of exposure to the elements will take its toll and the coating will no longer be at its best. However, if you hardly ever drive your car and keep it garaged, the coating will receive less punishment and last much longer. There's also nothing from stopping you from topping it up. If you already own your dream car and want to keep it forever, you can have your car re-coated.

Is it literally like a sheet of glass?

It literally is like glass, but it not like a sheet of glass. Some people have got the impression that ceramic coatings are 5mm thick and look like the lacquer coatings you find on some vintage luxury cars. It isn't like that. It's a nano-coating, so it's only molecules thick, but trust us, you can tell the difference.

Can I polish it?

We wouldn't recommend using polishes on your ceramic coating. At best case, they will do nothing, at worst case they will damage it. Polish is abrasive and designed to take off a layer of paint. By having a ceramic coating, you have sealed in your paint with a layer of silica. So there's really no need.
