A brand new electric car, and what better way to keep it brand new than with a ceramic coating. Our customer wants to keep this car a while and chose our 8-year Matrix Black.
The car arrived with a few scratches, which is unfortunate but fairly normal for some reason. Because new cars are already shiny, when providing a package for new car protection, we usually only recommend a 2-stage polish, which keeps the price down. But it's fairly common for us to have to do some paintwork correction and polish a few areas to remove scratches and blemishes.
With the car polished to a high shine, we applied Matrix Black, an 8-year ceramic coating which is our top ceramic. As you can see, it looks fairly wonderful but also has the added benefit of making the car far easier to clean, needing to be cleaned far less often. It's also pretty tough, giving some degree of protection.
How long, after a ceramic coating, can I drive my car?
A ceramic coating will cure over time, but by the time you collect your car, it will be ready and safe to drive.
When we were told that a ceramic coating takes about 24 hours to fully cure, we shrugged our shoulders and didn't think much of it. However, when we have coated a car and kept it overnight, we would swear they look even better the next day. We haven't tested it with a gloss-meter, and it's subjective, but it certainly seems to be the case.
