Ford Fiesta End-of-Lease Inspection

This Ford Fiesta came in for a lease inspection after a 38-month lease in decent condition, with highlights being a scuffed tyre, some small dents and scratches on the exterior and a needed clean throughout the interior.

It's possible that this car would incur no charges because although there are some areas of damage which are chargeable, the lease company with have a threshold, under which it just isn't worth the admin to send you a bill and upset their customers. However, we would always recommend doing what you can to rectify the small areas of damage because they can mount up.

Doing the little things, eats into the list. So on this car, we would recommend cleaning the interior. It doesn't have to be a valet or a full detail, just a vacuum and some upholstery cleaner to get rid of the stains. We'd also recommend that we polish out what scratches we can, as most of them can be removed completely, a touch-in paint will take care of the rest. It's always a good call to touch in chips on door edges.

This just leaves the scuffed wheel and the dents. The dents are under 10mm on this vehicle so were acceptable, and the charge for a wheel refurb is usually at trade price. So it would be more expensive to get it refurbished than it would be to accept the charge. As the charge would likely be around £50, and the threshold in the hundreds of pounds, this car should safely be in the clear.

We would recommend looking at your lease agreement and phoning your lease company and ask them what their threshold is. They don't all divulge this information, but many will.
