Water Leak + Ceramic Coating | Ford Fiesta Video
The came to us with a leaky car and left with a shiny car that looks like new. It's hard to believe this Fiesta is 12 years old!
This is a collection of clips, most of which were sent to the customer to keep them informed. We also email estimates, but it suits everybody to communicate with videos of the car being done, explanations, giving the customer options, and letting them be in control every step of the way.
The leaks on this Ford Fiesta were fairly standard. The rear air vents were leaking because they had perished, which is something that happens on all cars over time. The best solution is to replace both rear air vents with new ones.
These fords also have spot welded seams, which are then sealed with a gum at the factory to make them waterproof. Over time, these seams crack as the gum hardens and becomes less flexible. There is nothing wrong with the weld, so you don't have to worry about the car falling apart, all we have to do is add some sealant into the gap which is a cheap and easy fix. It appears that somebody has already done this around the strut. When we do it we keep it very neat, we have had more practice than whoever did this.
This video was sent to the customer, along with an estimate for the repairs, and they agreed to have the work done, but had also enquired about having the car polished and coated with a ceramic sealant.
It can be a pretty good idea if you have a car which is in good condition, we know the engine will be good for many more miles, you have had leaks sorted out, which should make the car good for another 10 years, the car has been dried out, so why not make the rest of the car like new?
In the video you can see James run through the customer's options and how they will work with that month's special offer which was a free upgrade on any ceramic coating package.
It so happened that the customer didn't choose any of our listed packages and instead had a ceramic coating which we were testing. Manufacturers and suppliers often give us samples to try, and we need cars to test them on. If we have any, we will often give a special deal on paint protection products if the customer agrees to come back in a year and let us check how the coating is doing. This works well for customers who are in our area.
After giving the car a two stage polish, applying the 3-year ceramic coating and a special anti-static coating to the wheels, this Fiesta almost looks like new. If you have decided to keep the car, why wouldn't you want it looking like new the whole time you own it? We have to admit, that compared to a coating of wax, a ceramic coating package is expensive, but it's far cheaper than a new model.
