Convertible Hood Protection | BMW 2 Series Video
This BMW has a rather unusual roof as it's grey, made up of a mixture of black and white, thick synthetic fibres which are fairly shiny. We think this has probably helped it remain as clean as it is.
There are some white spots of lichen and some green in the guttering, but all in all it isn't too bad. There are some wear marks towards the rear, and while you can slow this by keeping the hood clean, the fact is that this is fairly normal and likely to appear eventually.
Some of the rubbers are a little cracked, but we can help this by putting a product on the rubbers which rehydrates them, keeps them plump and supple, and so ensures they keep making a nice waterproof seal and don't perish quite so quickly.
We cleaned out the rear scuttle and flushed out all the drainage pipes, because they tend to get blocked over time and water can back up into the car causing damp problems if they aren't properly maintained.
Finally, the car was treated with our 2-year waterproof coating, which has made the roof particularly silky in combination with its synthetic fibres, and the car was also given an exterior detail. All in all, it looks rather nice.
