Mini Cooper | Cabriolet Hood Clean

This Mini Cooper's convertible roof had green moss and algae in all the usual places, but it's far from the worst we have seen.

If your hood is wet after it rains, then it's time to do something about it. If the waterproof coating is working, then either the water will bead up and sit on the top, or it will fall through, but the waterproofing should mean that it is no more than damp to the touch. If the hood is sopping wet, then the coating has worn off. 

We cleaned all the moss and lichen off the roof, dried it (because you can't put waterproof coating onto wet roofs) and then applied our two year nano-coating. There was some very minor wear and a scuff on the roof, but the coating will darken the whole hood up, make it more black, so these areas are harder to see. 

We also cleaned out the gutters and drainage areas, cleaned the rubbers and treated them with Krytox to make them supple again so that they form a nice seal, so the car doesn't leak.

The customer also took advantage of this month's special offer and had AutoGlym Ceramic Spray, a three-month sealant coating, for free.
