Paint Spillage Clean-up | Audi Q3
This Audi was new, and so we can only imagine how the customer felt when he spilled paint in the back of his car. Luckily he found our article on spilt paint in cars and did all the right things before bringing it to us.
It is very important not to let the paint dry, so we advise covering it with damp towels, which is what he did. This enables us to use our shampoo machines to suck it straight out, with the soap part of the machine diluting it without spreading it throughout the car.
Often, when a car gets to us, the paint has had time to dry onto plastic trim while the customer has been phoning insurance companies and local cleaning companies, and trying to search online for ways to remove paint from car interiors. Luckily this wasn't the case in this instance.
We only had three hours to work on this car before the customer had to set off on their long drive home (people come to us from all over the country, and sometimes other countries), but we were able to make a massive improvement. It might be the cast that some more cleaning can get out the final stains, which he can get done at his local valet company, but if not we'd recommend looking to get a replacement carpet. Sometimes a used replacement part can cost less than the price of having somebody spend hours cleaning, and often boot carpets don't get a lot of wear so if you can find one from a car that's been written off, it could be the ideal solution.
