The Urban is back again! When it was here before to have a Siramik Lustrous graphene coating, it was supposed to have the wheels coated.

However, somehow that was entered on our computer system, and we didn't notice until the customer had come to pick up the car. So it's back to have a coating on the wheels.

This is a car we are going to have back a few times as it's one of the first vehicles we put a graphene coating on, and we want to keep an eye on it. We test lots of products and even when we introduce them to our range, we still monitor them to ensure they are performing as promised.

Graphene coatings promise unrivalled hydrophobicity, and as you can see, the water really is rolling off this car even though the water has some soap in it and therefore has a lower surface tension. Once the car is dried, it looks stunning, almost like it was only done yesterday. Shinier than when it came out of the factory.

Why choose graphene coating over ceramic?

Graphene coatings are reported to have several advantages over ceramic. They are supposed to be tougher and thicker, and in our experience, this seems to be the case. Graphene is a highly conductive material, and so helps prevent build up of static charge. This could be a big deal, as dirt and metal fallout stick to your car using static electricity, oxidization is an electrical process. Electricity even plays a part in the formation of water spots, so making your car antistatic could have a number of long term benefits over other forms of car paint protection.
