Tesla | Lustrous Graphene Coating
We are really pleased with our new graphene coating, it gives a lovely dark finish which makes metallic colours pop. Graphene coatings have been a little controversial, largely because some products have graphene but not the bonded sheet.
Lustrous Graphene Coating is the real deal, you can tell because when the water beads up on the extremely hydrophobic surface, it forms its self into hexagons patterns rather than being random. This shows the graphene has formed up uniformly in the coating.
This Tesla is the perfect car to apply Lustrous to, with its high metallic charcoal grey paintwork. The car came to us new, however, the car already had some blemishes. There were plenty of bugs splattered on the front, and somebody had tried to polish out a scratch and left a cloudy patch. There was also a scratch along the length of the car, which thankfully wasn't very deep.
We have to prep every car before we apply a coating, and this includes getting all the bugs off and polishing the paintwork. When preparing new cars, they usually only require two passes with the polisher, but it is far more common than you might think to find cars straight from the showroom with transport damage, repairs and other issues that need additional paintwork correction.
