What is full body car polishing?
Quick answer: It’s mostly a marketing term. “Full body car polishing” just means the whole exterior is machine-polished, which is standard. The only time we wouldn’t do every panel is during targeted paint correction, where we focus on specific defects.
This is just how some people advertise their service, or further differentiate between polishing a car and paintwork correction, which usually done to specific areas where there are problems to correct.
Full body polishing simply means polishing the entire car, every painted panel from bumper to bumper. It’s the process of machine-polishing all the bodywork to remove swirl marks, light scratches, oxidation and wash haze, then bringing the paint back to a uniform, glossy finish.
Sometimes people ask for a “polish” when they really mean a quick wax or valet. Full body polishing is a different level. It’s paint correction, not just covering up marks. We’re using specialist machines, pads and compounds to carefully level the clear coat across the whole car, not just spot-treating one panel. The result is consistent depth of shine, richer colour and that glass-like reflection everywhere you look.
It can be a one-stage polish for light defects, or a multi-stage process if the paint has heavier marks. Either way, it’s a proper job that takes hours (or days) rather than minutes.
The big benefit is you get the car looking new again all over, not just in patches. And once it’s polished, that’s the perfect time to lock in the finish with wax, sealant or ceramic coating so it stays looking that way for years.
