SiRamik LGS Graphene Coating

Unrivalled protection. LGS contains graphene bonded sheet, two hundred times stronger than steel.

SiRamik LGS uses bonded graphene sheets rather than particles - and the difference shows. Harder in practice than a standard ceramic, and the colour depth on dark metallics is in a different class; there's an almost smoky quality to it, like light is being filtered rather than just reflected. Gary's coating of choice for dark metallic finishes. 8-year warranty.

“Cars like this, you would expect to see scratches all down the near side, and I’m not seeing any. The coating is doing its job.”

LGS uses bonded graphene sheets -- not particles, not graphene-oxide, but genuine graphene just one atom thick. In practice that means harder than a standard ceramic, more chemically resistant, and a colour depth on dark metallics that has to be seen to be believed. There’s an almost smoky quality to it, like light is being filtered rather than just reflected.

The hydrophobic finish is exceptional -- water beads and rolls off immediately. The anti-static properties mean less dust cling between washes. And unlike ceramics that can crack under temperature stress, graphene’s slightly flexible molecular structure makes it resilient.

Is LGS the right coating for you?

Both cars in our Chelmsford workshop -- one coated a year ago, one finished the day before. Can you tell which is which?

LGS is for the customer who wants the top of the range -- not just protection, but the visual result. On dark metallics and deep solid colours, it produces a depth that even Matrix Black doesn’t match; Gary reaches for LGS when the car and the colour demand it. At the top of our price range, it’s a considered choice -- the kind of coating you get on a car you intend to keep.

Lustrous GS Graphene Coating

LGS is a dedicated graphene coating -- siloxane resins with branched chain compounds and genuine bonded graphene sheet. Graphene’s lattice is completely impermeable, making it highly chemical resistant. It’s also conductive, which allows it to dissipate heat and static electric charge -- two properties no ceramic coating can match. SiRamik manufacture it; we apply it as trained professionals.

What LGS delivers

  • Exceptional hydrophobicity -- graphene has a high water contact angle, making it super-hydrophobic. Water beads and rolls off immediately, carrying surface dirt with it.
  • Heat and chemical resistance -- graphene resists heat well, reducing water spotting and baked-on bird mess; the chemical resistance exceeds standard ceramic.
  • Anti-static -- cars attract dust through static charge; graphene dissipates it, keeping your car cleaner for longer between washes.
  • 8-year warranty -- backed by SiRamik’s manufacturer guarantee and our own no-fuss, transferable warranty. See our full guarantee.

New Car Paint Protection

We highly recommend that you protect your new car with a speciality coating while the paintwork is new and highly polished. We have two sets of prices, one for new cars under 400 miles and one for cars 2–3 years old as they will require our two-stage polish, or for older cars, we have a four-stage machine polishing system. Have a look at some of the cars we have already coated with LGS Graphene Coating.

LGS Graphene Coating FAQs

How long does LGS last?

In truth, nobody knows for sure yet -- it’s new technology. What we do know is that permanent coatings usually last far longer than the official guarantee. We’ve seen polymer coatings last 15 years, ceramics prove even tougher, and graphene is close to indestructible. SiRamik gives a conservative 8-year guarantee. Realistically, with good care, you could expect much longer.

I’ve heard graphene is bunk?

Yes, there’s been hype -- and with hype comes scepticism. Some companies cut corners, adding a sprinkle of raw graphene to wax and calling it a coating. That’s snake oil. We were sceptical too, but after testing Lustrous Graphene Sealant we’ve seen outstanding results. Graphene really is a wonder material with incredible properties. We don’t promise miracles, but we can say this coating works.

Is graphene better than ceramic?

Each coating has pros and cons, including cost and application difficulty. From what we’ve seen, graphene is stronger, more flexible, and more resistant to chemicals. It also gives paintwork a deeper colour and makes metallic flecks really pop. Enough of a difference to matter? We think so.

Will it make my car scratch-proof?

No coating makes paint scratch-proof. Graphene coatings toughen paintwork, making it more resistant to scratches. Tests in other industries show graphene can almost double material strength, but on car paint it’s best described as “scratch resistant”. It will protect against swirls and light scratches, but it’s not armour plating.

Can I wax over a graphene coating?

You can, but you probably won’t need to. For extra gloss, we recommend Lustrous Plus Graphene Sealant Spray, which is made to work perfectly on top of LGS.
