LGS is a dedicated graphene coating -- siloxane resins with branched chain compounds and genuine bonded graphene sheet. Graphene’s lattice is completely impermeable, making it highly chemical resistant. We have two sets of prices, one for new cars under 400 miles and one for cars 2–3 years old as they will require our two-stage polish, or for older cars, we have a four-stage machine polishing system. LGS Graphene Coating FAQs
How long does LGS last?
In truth, nobody knows for sure yet -- it’s new technology. What we do know is that permanent coatings usually last far longer than the official guarantee. We’ve seen polymer coatings last 15 years, ceramics prove even tougher, and graphene is close to indestructible. SiRamik gives a conservative 8-year guarantee. Realistically, with good care, you could expect much longer.
I’ve heard graphene is bunk?
Yes, there’s been hype -- and with hype comes scepticism. Some companies cut corners, adding a sprinkle of raw graphene to wax and calling it a coating. That’s snake oil. We were sceptical too, but after testing Lustrous Graphene Sealant we’ve seen outstanding results. Graphene really is a wonder material with incredible properties. We don’t promise miracles, but we can say this coating works.
Is graphene better than ceramic?
Each coating has pros and cons, including cost and application difficulty. From what we’ve seen, graphene is stronger, more flexible, and more resistant to chemicals. It also gives paintwork a deeper colour and makes metallic flecks really pop. Enough of a difference to matter? We think so.
Will it make my car scratch-proof?
No coating makes paint scratch-proof. Graphene coatings toughen paintwork, making it more resistant to scratches. Tests in other industries show graphene can almost double material strength, but on car paint it’s best described as “scratch resistant”. It will protect against swirls and light scratches, but it’s not armour plating.
Can I wax over a graphene coating?
You can, but you probably won’t need to. For extra gloss, we recommend Lustrous Plus Graphene Sealant Spray, which is made to work perfectly on top of LGS.
