The £150 diagnosis buys you the answer, including the answer 'don't bother'. Where the seals have perished together on an older car, the repair can cost more than the car is worth, and we would rather tell you that than take the money.
A Range Rover came in with what looked like a leaky windscreen -- water flooding in down both sides of the bulkhead. We extracted 20 litres in total. On one side the carpet was soaking wet and obvious. On the other side, it still felt completely dry to the touch -- but there were at least another 10 litres sitting underneath it that the owner had no idea about.

* Addition diagnostic labour needs to be charged at our standard hourly rate for vehicles that have been involved in accidents and/ or need panels & DIY sealant removed etc. in order to locate the problem. In incidences where the dealership needs involvement (for example, removing the dashboard to locate the problem), we will liaise with the customer regarding any additional costs.

A hybrid or electric car has to be electrically isolated before anyone works inside it, and powered back up again afterwards. Leak diagnosis and carpet drying both put a technician alongside high voltage components and orange cable runs, so on these cars the shutdown is part of the job rather than an optional extra.
Matt and Tom hold IMI Level 3 in Electric and Hybrid Vehicle Repair, so we isolate the system here and take the car on rather than turn it away. We do not service high voltage drivetrains; this is about making the car safe to work in.

Usually, our customers like to go straight ahead with repairs following on from their reports, but we understand it may be a lot to digest. We have a 2-hour grace period before we have to move onto other jobs, so we really appreciate your efforts to check the report and consent to repairs before this happens.
We aim to get you back on the road as quickly as possible with minimum fuss, but occasionally, we may need to be in touch if your vehicle needs recourse through your windscreen or insurance company to fix the repair. We'll keep you updated.
