If you have had a leak in your car, it's been caught in a flash flood, or you have driven through a deep ford, and now you have wet carpets, you will need to get your car dried before it causes other issues such as mould, corrosion and electrical problems.
Your car won't dry on its own. Driving with the windows open and the air conditioning running could take years to clear the water out -- and while you wait, that moisture is causing mould, corrosion and electrical problems underneath the carpet where you can't see them.
Most of the customers we see didn't have a dramatic flood. A puddle that was deeper than it looked. A ford that lapped over the top of the door sills. A roof left down in a downpour. They got a few pints of water in -- not gallons -- and thought it would dry out. It doesn't. Fresh water is still full of organic material. Leave it long enough in a warm car and it starts to smell like a pond, because that's essentially what you've got.
A blue Ford Fiesta came in after the driver misjudged the depth of the Ingatestone ford. The car made it through -- the engine kept running -- but the water had lapped over the top of the door sills. By the time it arrived with us, a few days had passed and the owner had noticed a smell. We lifted the carpet and found the underlay still saturated. We extracted the standing water, decontaminated the interior, and ran the blowers overnight. Back together and back to the owner the following day.

We begin by decontaminating the car with antimicrobial disinfectant -- this makes it safe to work on and prevents mould and mildew taking hold. Then we remove the seats and lift the carpet to extract any standing water underneath. Our powerful hot air blowers and dehumidifiers pull the remaining moisture out overnight. We put the car back together and return it to you clean, fresh and dry.

Can I save money by skipping the decontamination?
No -- decontamination is essential. Once a car has been wet inside, mould and bacteria can quickly grow, and breathing spores is unsafe. We insist on treating every car for your safety and ours. The hospital-grade product we use is low odour, safe, and highly effective.
Can I claim the cost on my insurance?
In many cases, yes. It’s always worth asking your insurer at the start. Even if you later decide the excess makes it uneconomical, you won’t be penalised just for enquiring.
My car was flooded by seawater -- can you help?
Salt water brings major complications and usually causes irreparable damage. In these cases, we recommend contacting your insurer and requesting an assessor, as the outlook is generally poor.
How long does it take to dry my car?
Typically 2-3 days. Day one is decontamination, dismantling, and cleaning. The car dries overnight, then we reassemble it the following day. Large executive cars with deep carpets or heavy flooding may need an extra day to fully dry. City cars with thin carpet and very little underlay can be dried overnight.
