What is smart repair?
Smart repair (Small to Medium Area Repair Technology) is a method of repairing localised cosmetic damage -- scuffs, scratches, stone chips, dents and alloy wheel kerbing -- without repainting a whole panel or replacing a bumper. Most repairs are completed the same day and cost significantly less than a body shop respray.
What is the BVRLA Fair Wear and Tear standard?
The British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association publishes a Fair Wear and Tear guide that defines what damage is considered acceptable when a lease car is returned. Damage beyond that standard is rechargeable. All our smart repair work is carried out to that standard, which means if we sign off a repair, it should pass a BVRLA-standard inspection.
How much does smart repair cost?
It depends on the type of damage, its size and where it is on the vehicle. A single stone chip costs less than a scuffed bumper corner; a kerbed alloy wheel costs less than a full refurbishment.
