Mini Cooper soft-top hood clean and two-year nano-coating. Roof waterproofing worn off. Gutters cleared, Krytox on door rubbers, complimentary three-month ceramic spray on bodywork.
This Mini Cooper soft-top hood had lost its waterproofing. If a convertible roof is sopping wet to the touch after rain -- not just damp on the surface, but actually wet through -- the waterproof coating has worn off. Left unprotected, the fabric continues to degrade and the car becomes prone to leaks.
We cleaned the moss and lichen off the roof, dried it thoroughly (coating will not bond to a wet surface), and applied a two-year nano-coating. The coating deepens the colour of the fabric and adds a visible sheen. Where there had been some minor wear and a small scuff, the darkened, even finish after coating makes those areas much less visible.
We also cleared the drainage gutters, conditioned the door rubbers with Krytox, and the customer took advantage of a special offer for a complimentary three-month ceramic spray coating on the bodywork.
