Meet Collin

Collin joins the New Again team in Chelmsford, stepping in after Cyril's departure. Here's a quick intro to the newest member of our workshop crew.

We decided to give our website its own in-house AI helper -- and after some experimentation, Collin Fernard was born.

The idea was to make him look approachable rather than threatening. With all this talk of AI taking over the world, we figured a friendly face would help.

We asked an AI image generator to create an Englishman, around 55 years old -- happy, slightly overweight, balding, with a beard and glasses. The kind of guy you'd be happy working alongside, or having a beer with. We went with "Collin" because it sounds like the name of someone who has spent his whole career in the motor trade.

At the time of writing, Collin still has a lot to learn, and we have been busy feeding him with information so that he can give informed answers to your questions. But even though we aren't done yet, he has performed admirably -- which for us means not giving answers that are wildly wrong.

Currently, our main task is to feed Collin with as much useful information about our business as we can, but in the future we intend to flesh him out with a bit of character. After all, he wouldn't truly fit in at New Again unless he was capable of a bit of banter and the occasional practical joke.
