BMW 6 Series 2015 | Water Leak Found

0:00 OK, today we have a BMW 6 Series in with a water leak problem. The customer has water in the passenger front and passenger rear and we're just going to show you what we've found so far. So what we're going to do is we're going to pour a little bit of water down your scuttle area. So if we put a bit of water in this area here, it should be emptying through the bottom of the arch, but we can see there that it's releasing very, very slowly,

0:28 so it's clear that that's blocked due to debris. Coming round to the driver's side, we're just gonna do the same again. We fill up where the scuttle drains go. Come into the driver's side, so we can see once again it's coming out very, very slowly. So that could be done with being cleaned and deblocked.

0:50 And now what we're going to show you is how it's getting inside the car. So what we're gonna do is we're gonna fill up here, so basically this should run out through the front arches. So we filled that up there, we can see that it's still dripping out a tiny bit. And then if we now go inside the car on the passenger side, we can see that there's a blanking plate there. And this blanking plate here, we can see that there's lines of water coming down, and also all of this sponge is soaking wet up here as well. So it's

1:29 clear that this bracket here is perished and it's letting water in. And obviously what then happens, obviously you can see the trail marks coming down here past this where the wires run through, and then it then comes into the bottom of the footwell. We can see that there's a wiring loom run across there and we can see that it's wet in the bottom. And if we just touch this sponge, which is the underlay, so we can see that it's absolutely soaking wet. And it is

2:03 actually travelled all the way to the back of the car. Just got to pull the seat forward a little bit. And on the back carpets, if we push down on the carpet, so we can fill and you can just see that it's dampness obviously on the top there. So okay, so we found the leak on that one, so that's that one all sorted.
