A compilation of ceramic coating results from the New Again workshop -- from a Mazda MX-5 to a Morgan, a Porsche Boxster to an Aston Martin DB9. Includes a two-year resale value check on a coated car and the neighbour who came back after two years for a top-up.

A selection of ceramic coating results from the New Again workshop. Mazda MX-5, Porsche Boxster, Aston Martin DB9, Morgan, and a range of everyday cars -- the finish is the same regardless of the badge.

Most of the cars in this compilation were coated with Fireball Butterfly or Dok Do. We also apply Matrix Black and Matrix Blue. Matrix Black in particular is exceptional at deepening the colour on metallic paint -- it looks less like a coating and more like a very thick lacquer.

Seven Cars

Tony is in this video collecting his latest car. He has had seven cars coated with us. That is the kind of repeat work that comes from a result that speaks for itself every time you wash the car.

Two Years On -- and the Resale Value

A neighbour of one of the business owners saw a silver VW Golf come out of the workshop two years earlier and said, unprompted: "blimey, it looks like you've given it a coat of glass." That car came back recently for a top-up -- it had been parked under a tree and was a bit sad for itself, but the paintwork was still immaculate underneath. A clean and a decontamination pass, and it was back to how it looked on the day.

In that same section Gary checks the car against a guide price. Having done nothing but wash it for two years, it was valued at £25,000 -- the below-average price for that model was £23,200. That is not a controlled study, but it is concrete evidence of what keeping paintwork in genuinely good condition does to a car's value at the point of sale.

Why It Cannot Be Applied Outside

Ceramic coatings have a narrow window between application and the point where the excess needs to be removed. Under controlled conditions indoors, that window is comfortable. In direct sun the car gets too hot and the product flashes off too fast. Wind brings dust. Cold affects how it levels. Rain ruins it outright. You only get one attempt -- the coating bonds permanently and cannot be reapplied over a poor application. Every car we coat goes inside, under good lighting, at a stable temperature. Most manufacturers will not accredit you unless you have a controlled indoor environment, and we will not take the risk of doing it any other way.
