An Audi A3 cabriolet roof clean -- jet wash marks that looked like graffiti writing across the top. Rubbers conditioned, drains flushed, AutoGlym wax on the outside. Came up looking like brand new.
An Audi A3 cabriolet in for a hood clean and reproof. The roof is the main thing letting this car down -- and when you look at it, the previous jet washing has left marks that really do look like graffiti writing across the top. Those marks are in the fabric where the varying pressure has altered the texture, but once the roof is properly cleaned and the waterproof coating is on, they blend in significantly.
The Treatment
Full multi-stage roof clean to get all the dirt and grit out of the fibres, rubber conditioning on all the seals with a neoprene product to restore suppleness and improve the seal, drain channels flushed front and back. Once the roof was clean and dry, a two-year hydrophobic waterproof coating went on. The owner also took advantage of a special offer: AutoGlym spray wax on the exterior and tyre shine.
The Result
Came up looking like brand new. The jet wash marks blended in well once the roof was clean and dark again. The wear marks at the fold lines do not go away -- they are permanent once they are there -- but they are barely visible against a clean, evenly coloured and freshly coated roof.
