White emulsion paint spilt in Hyundai

White emulsion paint spilled inside a 2021 Hyundai. Owner kept it wet with towels before bringing it in. Paint had spread under the back seat, rear trims, and into both rear footwells. Bench seat jet-washed, trims removed, dried over the weekend.

White emulsion paint had spilled inside this 2021 Hyundai. The owner had found it and done the right thing: packed wet towels over the paint to keep it from drying before bringing the car in. That saved a significant amount of time on removal.

The paint had spread further than it initially appeared. It had run under the back seat, down both sides underneath the rear side trims (which had to be removed -- one had a pre-existing crack from a previous trim removal, which was noted), under the rear seat belt anchors, and along the floor to the front of the rear footwell. The spare wheel area polystyrene had paint on it too.

James removed the bench seat and jet-washed it separately. All the side trims came out. Paint was lifted off the seat base while still wet. Carpet was lifted on both sides to confirm how far it had run -- it reached the driver's side footwell as well. The interior was then dried with the drying machine over the weekend, rear seats hung to let gravity pull the moisture out.

End result: no sign of paint anywhere in the boot or cabin, everything back as it should be.
