0:00 Right, okay, so now we've put loads of water down the back drains, and we've now shut the cabriolet roof. And if we just quickly go inside here, we've been testing the rear air vents to make sure they're not being leaking, which there's no signs of them leaking. But if we go up here, we can see that we've got a pipe here which is a drainage pipe, a pipe here which is another drainage pipe, and then they connect your arch. But we can see there that there is signs that that pipe

0:30 is allowing a little bit of water to come out where it goes into the arch. So if I just give that a bit of a wiggle, you can see the water there. And so that could correspond with the boot leak as well. And basically what that would then do is it would trickle all down into this box section, and then what it would then do is it would make its way, obviously we can see that there's evidence of water underneath that plate there, very minor, just here. So it's looking like it

1:02 then works its way over here to this gully, and then follows it into the spare wheel holder. And I've checked at the driver's side, and the driver's side seems to be nice and sealed. So we can see that one there, there's no signs of corrosion or any water coming out of there at all, which is a good sign. And so I believe that's everything we've found so far. Okay.

The last part of our investigation into the water leaks on the 6 series BMW which had wet carpets.

There seems to be a loose drainage hose in the boot which is designed to allow any water collecting in the trunk which holds the convertible roof to drain away to the wheel arch. But in this case it is leaking on one side which is allowing water to run down into the spare wheel well.

Solution: The pipe and the nipple were cleaned up and resealed.

Now all the leaks have been identified and fixed, we can dry the car.

Question: "How much will it cost to repair my leak?"

Answer: We can't say until we have had a look, that's why we do this inspection at a fixed price. It could be that your car needs to go off to the dealer for a replacement air conditioner, it might need some welding, or like this BMW, it might need a bit of a clean, some drainage holes unblocking, and can be dealt with on the inspection for no extra charge. We do however recommend that you have us dry the car water in cars can cause problems with corrosion, the electrical systems as well as your health.
