Fiat 500 Re-test | Water Leak Found

Unfortunately, this Fiat 500 came back to us for the third time with another leak. We had previously fixed the door membranes and the car came back with a leak in the same place.

It transpired that the car had been in an accident and the bodyshop had needed access to the inner door, so they had cut through the membrane and not made good afterwards.

In this third chapter of the story, the customer returned very annoyed, and we can hardly blame them.

The customer thought the floor pans were wet on both sides, and complained that the car was still leaking on both sides.

We tested the vehicle and could find no leaks on the driver's side, and no sign of water either. It is likely that when the owner checked, the driver's side was slightly damp just through having wet boots on the floor.

The passenger side, however, was very wet. This turned out to be a burst pipe which supplies water to the rear window washer.

We could do this the easy way or the hard way. The hard way would be to replace the pipe completely, but that would be a lot of work, which would cost more money. The customer wisely opted for the easy way, which is to splice the pipe in place.
All our repairs come with a three-year guarantee, and we wouldn't offer this option if we didn't think we could do a lasting repair.

With the repair done, we dried the car and tested under our rain arch.
