0:00 Water leak found video on the Seat Leon 2014. So if we just pop this door open and have a look inside here. You can obviously see the water there already. If we come up to the sunroof, pour a bit of water in down where the drains are. Just look down here. So obviously as you can see, water comes flooding in through the car.

0:38 quite a bad leak, because obviously the drains are blocked up, so it backs up and it will run, it will be behind the A-pillar trim or the windscreen, the same both sides. It's also at the back, we've just done it. I'm not going to pour any more water in there because it's quite a lot of water comes out, but as you can see, that's just from me doing the front. The back's leaking as well, so you get in both sides. As you can see, the water's there as well,

1:05 so both the sunroof drains at the back are blocked as well, that's why you're getting water in the back. If we quickly come to the front of the car and grab the watering can, this driver's front door membrane is leaking, so if we pour water down here, down the back of this glass, basically imitating it's raining. So the water will run down here, run down the bottom, it'll just come out the bottom.

1:37 We do this, and then come round here, you can see it's coming out here. It's basically the door membrane is leaking, so that will be going into the driver's side at the front, which at first we didn't think was wet, but after further investigation and sticking our hand under the seat, we can feel that there's wet under there, so that's also leaking.

2:02 so as you can see there's quite a lot of water, and that's obviously going inside the car. So we've got four sunroof drains and we've got the dormant brain as well. Obviously the drains are quite bad, they're leaking quite a lot, as you can see it's still leaking now. So we're gonna stick an estimate together for you, let's do the work and we'll go from there.

This Seat Leon has four drainage points on its sunroof, but this car has them blocked or damaged on three corners, allowing water to leak into the front and back.

The car also has a leaking door membrane on the driver's side. As the car is now 8 years old, it is likely that the others are also perished and will start leaking soon, so we would recommend replacing them on all four doors.

Question: "Why is water leaking under my dashboard?"

Answer: There are several reasons that we frequently run across. The first is that the drainage holes in the scuttle area in front of your windscreen are blocked. This area then fills with water until it can find a hole to leak through. Frequently this is a hole in the bulkhead where the pollen filter is located, but it could be a grommet, blanking plate or any other number of holes.

The second most common is from the sunroof drainage system. There are silicone pipes that run down the a-pillar to let water drain out behind the front wheel arch. If there is a blockage, if the pipes split, or if they pop off their connectors, you may well find water leaking out from behind the dashboard.

A third, less common problem is with the heater or AC unit. These don't get taxed quite as hard in the UK as they do in some hot countries where this is more of an issue, but they can spring leaks and spill fluid onto your carpets.
