Brand-new electric Renault Megane with Matrix Black 8-year ceramic coating and interior fabric protection. Touchless degreasing wash first to remove dealer wax, DA buff, alcohol prep, then coating. Wheels not included -- customer chose interior protection instead.
A brand-new fully electric Renault Megane for Matrix Black 8-year ceramic coating. The preparation process starts with a touchless degreasing wash -- soap and jets, nothing touching the paint -- to remove any wax or silicone the dealer may have applied. Then a hand wash with a soft mitt, then into the workshop to dry properly before the polish and coating preparation begins.
The DA machine (dual-action, no circular marks) goes over the entire car, then everything is cleaned with alcohol. Even on a brand-new car this process improves on the factory finish. The customer also opted for interior fabric protection on the seats and trim, which makes the upholstery waterproof and stain-resistant. Wheels were not included this time -- that was a conscious choice to prioritise the interior treatment.
A brand-new black car without a coating on it is going to look grey and scratched within a couple of years of normal washing. Clean it half as often, and when you do clean it the result is always this. Worth doing on day one.
