Mini Cabriolet roof clean, 2-year nano-coating, Krytox on rubbers, drain flush. Rear rubber trim splitting -- universal on Minis of this age, easy to replace. Special offer exterior detail and wax added.
Convertibles like this Mini do not have door pillars or window frames -- the windows press directly against rubber seals to keep water out. Over time those rubbers dry out and shrink, which is when leaks start. Krytox treatment restores the rubber, plumping it back up so it seals correctly again. It is straightforward and inexpensive, and well worth doing on any convertible that has not had it recently.
The rear drainage on a convertible -- gutters and pipes beneath the hood when it is folded down -- tends to block over time with leaf debris. Blocked drains back up and eventually overflow into the car. We flush them out as standard on every roof job.
This Mini's hood was in good condition, not very dirty, and came up well with the standard clean and two-year waterproof nano-coating. One issue: the rear rubber trim was splitting and deformed -- this is almost universal on Minis of a certain age. The part is readily available, not expensive, and held on with a few screws. We recommended replacing it.
The customer took advantage of a special offer and had an exterior detail and wax coating added at the same time.
