Audi A6 for Lustrous GS Graphene coating. More preparation work than expected: iron fallout removed, previous bad polish stripped out with paintwork correction. Any coating seals in what is underneath -- the prep matters.
This Audi A6 came in with a customer budget and the brief to use the best coating that fit it. We recommended Lustrous GS Graphene -- and when we examined the car more closely, the preparation turned out to be a significant part of the work. Iron fallout on the paint, and someone had previously tried polishing the car, leaving swirl marks all over it instead of removing them.
Any coating -- ceramic or graphene -- will only seal in the paint condition it is applied over. Scratches and swirl marks do not disappear under a coating; they get locked in. So we treated the fallout, clay-decontaminated the surface, and worked through our multi-stage polish, using paintwork correction on the areas that needed it. That is the difference between a coating that looks its best and one that looks like it was applied over a problem.
Lustrous GS Graphene is a graphene-sheet based coating that gives a remarkable depth of finish on dark-coloured cars. We recommend it for cars that are worth the investment in preparation -- and this Audi was.
