Peugeot Partner Ceramic Coating

Brand new Peugeot Partner delivery van. Previous van had ceramic and lasted years -- hence the return. Wheel rims painted under trims to prevent rust; refrigeration unit bolt-holes sealed with wax oil.

Brand new Peugeot Partner for a sandwich delivery company in Chelmsford. The previous van for this customer had a ceramic coating on it and it held up well for years -- which is why they came back and put one on the new one immediately. A van that represents your company on the road should look clean and professional; a ceramic coating makes that significantly easier to maintain.

We buffed the paintwork to prepare the surface before the coating went on. Even on a brand-new van, a light buff removes any surface contamination and gives the coating a clean surface to bond to.

Two specific jobs on this one beyond the standard polish and coat. First: the wheel trims. On Peugeot vans of this type the steel wheels under the trims tend to rust around the bolt circles, and even on a brand-new vehicle the centre cap area already shows early rust. We removed the trims, painted the exposed steel with a better-grade paint to prevent that rust establishing before the trims went back on. You would never see it with the trims on, but when the rust eventually gets through it looks shabby and it is harder to deal with.

Second: the refrigeration unit fixing holes. The freezer unit is bolted directly through the roof, and those drill holes are where rust starts on older vans of this type. We removed the fixing screws, cleaned back the exposed metal, applied a wax oil product behind the metalwork, and resealed. The investment in a refrigeration unit makes the whole van worth protecting; rust at the fixing points is where these vehicles fail early.

The van left with ceramic coating on the bodywork, protected wheels, and sealed fixing points -- all looking clean, all set to stay that way.
