Three brand-new blue Teslas across three coating levels: Matrix Blue 3-year on a Model 3, Matrix Black 8-year (+ glass + leather) on a second Model 3, and graphene coating on a Model Y. All arrive before first wash; all leave with years of protection.
Three blue Teslas, three different coatings -- all arriving brand new, all going on to years of protection.
The first was a Tesla Model 3, 300 miles on the clock, brought straight in before its first wash. It had road dust from the delivery drive but the paint underneath was untouched original lacquer. We cleaned it down with a degreasing wash to remove any silicones or wax the dealer might have applied at handover, did a light machine buff to remove the small imperfections that arrive on even brand-new cars, then sealed it with Matrix Blue 3-year ceramic coating. The name comes from Autosmart's product line -- it works on any colour car. Super gloss finish, and the hydrophobic properties mean the paint stays that way with far less cleaning.
The second Tesla Model 3 came in for Matrix Black 8-year ceramic -- Autosmart's flagship coating -- along with glass treatment and leather protection. Edward handled the machine preparation on this one: DA polisher, no circular marks, just enough to clean the paint surface and remove any factory wax before the alcohol wipe-down. The front panels had a few very light swirl marks from pre-delivery inspection; those were dealt with in the buffing pass. By the time the coating went on, the car looked like it already had one. Matrix Black is a noticeably deeper finish than the 3-year product.
The third was a Tesla Model Y with a graphene coating. Same preparation process: contactless wash, DA buff, alcohol clean, then the coating. Brand new car, no scratches to work around, just paint in perfect condition ready to be protected.
We seem to do a lot of Teslas. The owners tend to be people who bought the car as a considered decision and want to keep it in the condition they received it. A ceramic or graphene coating on a new Tesla on day one is the most cost-effective approach -- no correction needed, no swirl marks to chase down, just clean paint and a coating that will last for years.
