Audi Q3 paint spillage -- arrived workable. Three hours of cleaning before the customer had to leave. Significant improvement; some boot carpet residue may need further cleaning or replacement.
Keep the paint wet. That is the most important thing you can do if you have spilled paint in a car -- cover it with damp towels to prevent it drying before getting the car to us. This Audi Q3 arrived with the paint still workable, which made the whole job considerably more straightforward.
We had three hours to work on this car before the customer had to leave on a long drive. In that time we made a significant improvement. Some residual staining remained in the boot carpet that might respond to further cleaning, or a used replacement boot carpet might be a cost-effective alternative to spending more hours cleaning. Sometimes a used part from a written-off car costs less than extensive labour, and for a boot carpet that does not get much wear, condition from a low-mileage donor is usually acceptable.
If you have spilled paint, do not try to clean it yourself without reading our advice article first. Well-intentioned attempts to clean paint off can spread the contamination and make the job considerably harder. See our car paint spillage clean-up service.
