BMW 3 Series with accumulated wash marks polished out in a two-stage machine process by James. The metallic colour comes back to life. Finished with a 12-month ceramic coating.
Wash marks are the invisible damage most car owners are accumulating every time they visit a hand car wash or use a sponge without rinsing it first. The grit in the wash water -- and on the sponge -- is harder than the lacquer, and every pass scratches it. In sunlight the effect is striking: swirls, holograms, spider-webs, depending on the angle.
This BMW 3 Series came in with that kind of accumulated damage. James machine-polished it using a two-stage process -- cutting compound first, finishing stage second -- to remove the scratches and restore the depth of colour. On a metallic, the polish makes the hidden tones visible again: the greens and purples and pinks that are built into the flake.
Once the paint is clean and bright, the customer chose to protect it with a 12-month ceramic coating to help keep it that way. The whole job takes the car from looking tired to looking better than when it left the showroom.
